JUST LANDED!!! As they say in them there hipster vinyls joints.
The extraordinarily amazing and super secretive London based guerrilla collective arrives on record. Three albums of stunning post punk grooves, World beats, old skool riddim, RnB, politicised hip hop and radical future vision.
In an industry saturated with up-to-the-minute ticker tape bullshit, upfront singles and streams which mean you've heard the entire album six months before it's released, and blink-and-you'll-miss-it so we'll shoot you in the eyes with it every ten seconds promo, not to mention dorks bombarding your feed with 'daily updates' (yeah, what's that all about?) Sault are a heady and intoxicating alternative; no press, no promo, no updates, no upfront ad campaign.
Readers of my nightly laser-guided JDAM of nostalgia, junk and ego-stroking will be familiar with the, 'blah blah blah unmarked PROMO turned up in the post blah blah blah, IT WAS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD' stories about great albums that arrive like strangers without fanfare and end up best friends living with you for the rest of your life. This is like that, yeah?
Does this count as 'fanfare'?
